Bramley National Park receives new outdoor mountain biking trail

Posted On November 9, 2016

A nine kilometre outdoor trail network will be opened this week, in a big boost for tourism in Bramley National Park.

The 9km trail is the first part of an ongoing initiative to create more purpose built trails across Western Australia.

The trail came at a cost of approximately $270,000 and was funded as part of the $21.05 million Royalties for Regions Parks for People initiative.

Environment Minister Albert Jacob spoke of initiative and the completed works.

"Mountain biking is growing in popularity, increasing the demand for access to our national parks," Mr Jacob said.

"The master plan identified this area as a priority for purpose-built trails and construction of the new network has already attracted significant local and visitor interest.

"The Bramley forest network incorporates trails with varying levels of difficulty, appealing to a broad range of people, with smooth, flowing trails for beginners to more technically challenging trails for experienced riders.

"Under the master plan, the State Government is also working towards creating world-class mountain bike trails throughout the south-west, including in the Collie and Pemberton areas."
