Works have today begun on resurfacing a 1.2km stretch of Kenihans and Education road. The works, which come as part of a $750,000 package from the State Government, will see road resurfacing upgrades underway on over 25km worth of roads across South Australia.
The roads that will receive upgrades include:
As well as the resurfacing works, a 6.3km stretch of the Stott Highway will be widened to help improve traffic flow.
Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Stephen Mullighan spoke of the long term importance of the works.
“Resealing works such as these are vital for ensuring the long-term use of key arterial roads, as well as making them safer for everyone who uses them.
“Whether it is to commute, for school runs, to transport goods or for people heading out on weekends and at night, these important works cut the risk of crashes, make the journey smoother and lead to less wear and tear on vehicles.
“We are committed to continually improving and upgrading our arterial road network to keep traffic moving and focus on improving safety for all road users.”
All works will be carried out between 5:30pm and 7am each day of the week in order for them to meet their April completion target.
